Millipole (2005)

millipolemillipole

Installed in the Crossroads arts district of downtown Kansas City, this 19-foot-tall sculpture began as a 24-foot steel lamp post. When sliced at regular intervals in two intersecting planes, the pipe was flexible enough to forge into the flowing organic form seen here. For a 3-dimensional Google maps streetview of this sculpture, click here and rotate the camera 180 degrees.
